About GIP

Our Mission

Genius is Perseverance is a non-profit foundation dedicated to helping young people build better lives through sports, using athletics as a vehicle for character, purpose, and personal growth. We believe the greatest achievement is not the perseverance to accomplish, but the perseverance to presence—the discipline to meet each moment with clarity, humility, and intention. True genius is not talent, but the daily commitment to show up, learn, and grow despite obstacles and setbacks.

Founded on the philosophy that guided CEO Thomas Bropleh throughout his professional basketball career, our mission extends far beyond developing athletes. Through mentorship, education, and sport, we strive to cultivate resilient leaders who understand that success is measured not only by what they achieve, but by who they become.

Our dedication is to the next generation, empowering them to carry the values of perseverance, service, and presence into every aspect of their lives.

A Non-Profit Foundation

What it means — and why it matters.

Genius is Perseverance is a non-profit foundation. That means we don't exist to generate profit for owners or shareholders — every dollar we receive is reinvested directly into our mission: camps, equipment, mentorship, and opportunities for young people. Our success isn't measured on a balance sheet; it's measured in the lives our programs touch.

Being part of a non-profit — as a donor, volunteer, or partner — means joining something built entirely around impact. It's a community where your time and generosity translate directly into change you can see on the court and in the community.

Mission Over Profit

Every contribution serves the mission. There are no shareholders — the young people we serve are the return on investment.

Giving That Gives Back

Contributions to qualified non-profit organizations may be tax-deductible, so your generosity can benefit you as well as the cause.

Transparency & Trust

Non-profits are accountable to their communities, operating openly so supporters know exactly how their gifts create impact.

Community & Purpose

Volunteering and partnership connect you with people who share your values — and there's no substitute for purpose you can feel.
